Make a Gift

The GIC has been incredibly pivotal in my experience at Penn. When I come to the GIC, I feel like I can bring any question, concern, or news, and know that someone will listen and respond thoughtfully, especially with emotional support. In terms of on-campus involvement, the GIC has given me a platform to discover who I am as a leader and to express myself both as a student on campus and as a Native student within the Penn community.

Give to What Inspires You

Inspiring Student Life is a fundraising initiative that supports University Life’s Cultural Resource Centers and celebrates their collective impact across campus and beyond.

Support the Greenfield Intercultural Center

Since the founding of the Greenfield Intercultural Center (GIC) in 1984 (read history here), the GIC has been a home away from home for students from all backgrounds interested in intercultural programming and dialogue.

The GIC promotes institution-wide dialogues that raise awareness of the rich traditions and diversity within the Penn community while encouraging students to understand the importance of building a strong intercultural community at Penn.

The GIC supports numerous student groups, including program funding and implementation, offers courses and workshops that develop cultural competency skills to the Penn community, and leadership opportunities that bring together domestic and international students.

The GIC Fund for Programs and Services is intended to assure that the GIC can continue to provide the broadest range and highest quality of intercultural education to prepare Penn students for the 21st-century workplace.

Give to the First-Generation, Lower-Income Program Fund

You can also make a gift directly to our First-Generation Community Programs. This program provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students who are the first in their families to attend college. Funds raised support Penn Flash, our learning communities, our community library and other programs and network opportunities with alumni.

Announcement: The Cultural Resource Centers & The Penn Fund

Effective immediately, unrestricted donations to the Cultural Resource Centers will also be recognized as donations to The Penn Fund. In other words, when you make a gift to a Cultural Resource Center General Fund, your gift will be recognized by The Penn Fund too. By doing so, donations to any Cultural Resource Center General Fund will be included in these University recognitions:

  • Benjamin Franklin Society (BFS): Gifts that are received by Penn and gifts made directly to a CRC General Fund will be recognized the same as other Benjamin Franklin Society (BFS) funds using the same levels and criteria for recognition ($2500+).
  • Ivy Stone Society (ISS): Gifts made by undergraduate alumni to a CRC General Fund will count the same as other Penn Fund-designated gifts toward Ivy Stone Society (ISS) status. The Ivy Stone Society recognizes Penn undergraduate alumni who make consecutive gifts of any amount to The Penn Fund for three or more fiscal years.
  • Reunion Giving: The amount of their gift and the number of alumni donors (one for an individual and two for a couple) will increase the numbers calculated for Total University Achievement for any milestone (quinquennial) reunion class for the year it was received.
  • Total University Achievement includes all gifted dollars and alumni donors from each milestone reunion class in the fiscal year of their reunion. These are the two numbers (total amount of dollars and number of alumni class donors) presented to university leadership on Alumni Weekend.
